Applicants for Short term visas to Germany valid for Schengen countries including visas for business purposes, for holidays and for honoring an invitation to Germany should be submitted to the Joint Visa Reception Centre.

The German Embassy in Accra advises applicants in the process of applying for a Schengen Visa (Short Term Including Tourism & Visit of Family and Friends/ Business & Transit) to submit their visa applications to the German Embassy in Accra only with a prior appointment arranged at the German Visa Centre.

To schedule an appointment at the German Embassy, applicants will first have to submit their documents at the Visa centre No. 19, 2nd Crescent ,Asylum Down,Accra. (MON – FRI 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon & 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m)

Applicants for transit, student, family reunion, scientist and long stay visas may apply directly at the Embassy. In general visa applications are processed within 4 working days from the interview at the German Embassy.

Passports should be collected from VFS.

There is a VFS Service Charge of 18.60 GHc (including VAT & NHIL) per person for this service. This is independent of the applicable Visa Fees.

The Service Charge is payable in cash at the VFS Application center, at the time of collecting the appointment receipt.
