Applicants for Short term visas to Germany valid for Schengen countries including visas for business purposes, for holidays and for honoring an invitation to Germany should be submitted to the Joint Visa Reception Centre.

An applicant may choose to apply at the German visa reception Centre between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. without prior appointment OR at the Visa Section of the German Embassy in Accra.

Applicants for transit, student, family reunion, scientist and long stay visas may apply directly at the Embassy. In general visa applications are processed within 4 working days from the interview at the German Embassy.

Passports should be collected from VFS.

There is a VFS Service Charge of replace it with GH 33.00 (including VAT & NHIL) per person for this service. This is independent of the applicable Visa Fees. The fee change is as per the currency exchange rates 

The Service Charge is payable in cash at the VFS Application center, at the time of collecting the appointment receipt.
